Yay!!Yes, another one…The 80s one was fun, even if the Joe Le Taxi bit caused much disgruntlement despite assurances from me to “wait a minute, wait a minute”. Sheesh, it’s SO difficult for an artiste these days! ;)Anyway, normal service is resumed with the current crop of big room funky house floorfillaz and some golden mouldies for good measure. It’s Friday and the weekend’s just begun! Work is seasonally hectic and much of my spare time is now being demanded by my Open University course, so it’s vital for me to wind down with a nice glass of wine and a mix to make.The title comes from a secondary school Business Organisation teacher I had who had an amazing ability to come up with bizarre, yet literary, lines for students to write as punishment. My favourite was one dished out to two boys who were solving a eceonomics dispute with their fists. They had to write, 100 times, “I must confine my pugilistic tendencies to the ring”. Twenty years later, that’s still in my head.

Unacceptable in the 80s (slight return)

Thanks for the feedback on the mix, guys ‘n’ gals. I’ve reupped it with a few changes. Most significantly, the Eurythmics track is now at the correct level. The ‘new’ version has replaced the older one in the post below.Cheers!

20,000 hits

Just noticed that I’ve had over 20,000 hits since I began in March 2006. This is probably what some blogs get before breakfast, but when I think that the academic book I wrote had a print run of just 1,000, it’s a little startling.Thanks to all who regularly drop by, leave comments and download the music. Plenty more malarky ahead

Mix Time: Unacceptable in the 80s

After an abortive attempt at an 80s mix early in the summer (quality control refused to allow me post it), I decided to have another go. Instead of using actual tracks from the 80s, I used remixes or tracks that sample 80s stuff instead. Much easier to mix and hopefully much funkier to dance to.

I still wish I could have got ZZ Top’s Legs in there though. I <3 that track.
