Why none of us will ever hold high office

This lovely image of Governor Sarah Palin demonstrates how those of us who blog and have profiles scattered around the web will never have a shot at high office. Seriously, do you really think America will let this person be President (remember that McCain is 72 and has cancer)?

Now, look at your flickr account and ask yourself, would you vote for you?

Personally, I’ve ditched various notions of privacy and have decided that there’s more to gain from web promiscuity (as it were) than overtly censoring myself, but still, she does seem a bit lacking in gravitas. Her t-shirt reads “I may be broke but I’m not flat busted”.

And to avoid accusations of political partisanship, here’s a flattering shot of Obama. (Actually, I think he’s

quite adorable here, but still…).

And, just in case anyone is looking for a photo of me looking goofy, here you go.

Looks like it says “I may be broke but I’m not flat busted”… “busted” having the double meaning of broke and “with titty”.

I’d vote for you. I actually had to dismiss a really good friend who said he would vote for Palin over Barack any day. RIght wing partisans like keeping this country arguing over the small things while they continue to stuff their pockets. it is really pathetic how much they can get away with.

Lord help the world. Anything that holds back the McCain campaign is fine by me. Although I do fear she’s appealing to the middle states with her 17 year old pregnant unmarried daughter revelation. Gives the rednecks something to identify with…

    lord.

To me, using Palin like this reeks of desperation to be honest. Some bloggers could be right, she could be a ploy to get Mccain elected, then Palin bows out of the position for familial reasons, and Lieberman steps right in.

but onto lighter note, you’re superhero name should be lolcat approved, “teh fuunk”

Really? I get the feeling that some Republicans must be quietly furious about the shitstorm of scandal Palin has attracted in her first five days. The Democrats just need to keep above it for a little while longer then get Biden into the ring with her. I’d imagine she can’t hold her own against him. Game over – maybe….

    “Teh fuunk”. I likes it.

I’m going to google Robin Palin and see what comes up… hahahahhaaa

If the McCain/Palin team wins, then no one in this country can ever again claim to have high standards. Or any standards for that matter.

    CLAIM VS FACT

•“Hockey mom”: true for a few years
•“PTA mom”: true years ago when her first-born was in elementary school, not since
    •“NRA supporter”: absolutely true
•social conservative: mixed. Opposes gay marriage, BUT vetoed a bill that would have denied benefits to employees in same-sex relationships (said she did this because it was unconsitutional).
•pro-creationism: mixed. Supports it, BUT did nothing as Governor to promote it.
•“Pro-life”: mixed. Knowingly gave birth to a Down’s syndrome baby BUT declined to call a special legislative session on some pro-life legislation
•“Experienced”: Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. No legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city administrator to run town of about 5,000.
    •political maverick: not at all
    •gutsy: absolutely!
•open & transparent: ??? Good at keeping secrets. Not good at explaining actions.
•has a developed philosophy of public policy: no
•”a Greenie”: no. Turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box stores and disconnected parking lots. Is pro-drilling off-shore and in ANWR.
•fiscal conservative: not by my definition!
•pro-infrastructure: No. Promoted a sports complex and park in a city without a sewage treatment plant or storm drainage system. Built streets to early 20th century standards.
•pro-tax relief: Lowered taxes for businesses, increased tax burden on residents
•pro-small government: No. Oversaw greatest expansion of city government in Wasilla’s history.
•pro-labor/pro-union. No. Just because her husband works union doesn’t make her pro-labor. I have seen nothing to support any claim that she is pro-labor/pro-union.
